Carmen Gutman’s practice focuses on all types of civil litigation, including habitability, premises liability, and personal injury claims.

Prior to joining Becherer Kannett Schweitzer, Ms. Gutman’s practice focused on construction defect litigation and personal injury litigation. Ms. Gutman has experience in all stages of litigation, including courtroom experience, motion practice and trial.

While in law school, Ms. Gutman externed with the Alameda County Public Defender’s office, gaining courtroom experience and motion practice.

Of Personal Note

  • While in law school, Ms. Gutman was the recipient of the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Ethics, Wills & Trusts, and Constitutional Law.

  • Ms. Gutman grew up in the Republic of Panama and is fluent in Spanish.
